About Us

Lets face it, the old guard companies were not exactly representing surfers anymore. Just these giant corporations that had nothing do with surfing owning all of the major brands, we cant even tell you who sponsored what event or surfer anymore, and yes we are fans of pro surfing (maybe we will give our thoughts on the current state pro surfing, or forecasting , or other things down the line). So when the big parent brand was sold again a few years a go, and all of those brands were licensed out, and the designs looked like they hadn't put any thought into them, just pull archives from 90s, and then flopped, we were not exactly broken up about it. Maybe a bit nostalgic, and certainly felt for those who lost jobs, but as far as the brands go, it was time for a change.

That's where we come in, at least hopefully. The idea for Salt & Stoke has been bouncing around in our heads for a few years, even had samples made during that time, but between work and family (not to mention surfing), its hard to find time to put into a second job. But with those big brands going down, we think the timing is right for something new. That is where Salt & Stoke come in.

Here we are, running on a shoestring budget, sweat and saltwater dreams. For now we have a pretty limited offering - T-shirts, hoodies, hats and maybe one or two other items. Why no boardshorts? Shorts? Pants? Like we said, we are on a shoestring budget. For now we running as a print on demand shop, meaning, we make the items on your order when you order, not in advance. That keeps out overhead low and lets us adjust products quickly when needed. So the boardshorts, shorts and pants are coming, but we need to move our little company along into the next phase before we can do that.
